International Animation Festival

ORGANIZATION

Within the International Conference Mundos Digitales  taking place in A Coruña (Spain) from July 3rd to 5th, 2014, the animation competition includes:

Animation Short Films
ELEGIBILITY

This competition is open to all animation creations in short format, produced and/or created for non-commercial purposes after January 1st 2013.

PARTICIPATION

Participation in the Mundos Digitales International Animation Festival is FREE. There is no entry fee.

For registering your animated short you have to send the film together with a properly filled registration form. The registration form can be found at www.mundosdigitales.org.You also need to provide a picture (in digital format) to complete the registration.

The entries deadline is May 23th 2014.

DIFFUSION

The films selected for the Official Programme of  Mundos Digitales International Festival will be deposited on the Festival Video Library with the possibility of being displayed as promotional audiovisual material of the event, and activities related, with non-commercial purposes. Participants authorize the Festival Organization to use the film, film excerpts and/or stills for these purposes.

Organizers reserve the right to project all the short films sent for the competition during the event.

FORMATS

All materials can be sent by POST or through WEB.

The short films may be submitted in their original language. In the case this is not Galician, Spanish or English, the film must be subtitled in any of these three languages, or should be sent the original script translation into Galician, Spanish or English.

Submissions by Post

The pre-selection format will be DVD or Blu-Ray in PAL or NTSC. Schools submitting more than one film to the same category may send the material in only one disc but should fill a registration form for each film.

Shipping expenses of materials sent to the Festival are responsibility of the participant. Mundos Digitales cannot accept or assume responsibility for any damage or loss of material submitted. The copies on DVD or Blu-Ray submitted for pre-selection will not be returned and will become part of the Festival's Film Library.

Submissions by Web

For sending your film by web you have to fill the online registration form and follow the instructions. If the material is sent by web, it must comply the following requirements:

Vídeo:

Format: PAL o NTSC
File Format: AVI, MOV, MP4, WMV.
Coding: H264, MPEG4.

Audio:

Coding: MP3, AC3, AAC.

FINALISTS

A Selection Committee, composed by media professionals and/or members of the organizing team of the Festival, will select among all entries the finalists of the Festival.

The finalists will be announced from June 6th, 2014 and will be included on the on the Mundos Digitales Official Programme.

JURY

A jury composed of audiovisual and media creation professionals will decide the Official Competition winners. The jury will be selected and named by the Festival Organization.
Winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on July 5th, 2014.

PRIZES

The Festival Organization will cover travel and accommodation expenses to finalists in order to attend the Awards Ceremony (one person per short film). Likewise, finalists in all categories will be given full passes (one per short film) to attend all activities taking place during the event.

The Prize awarded to the winners is the Mundos Digitales trophy for the following categories:

  • BEST ANIMATION SHORT FILM
  • BEST NATIONAL ANIMATION SHORT
  • AUDIENCE AWARD
  • JURY AWARD

The Festival Organization maintains the right, by jury decision, to declare any of the awards void, or create new ones, depending on the quality of the shorts.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Participation in the Mundos Digitales Animation Festival means you agree to all sections of the present conditions and the resolution, by the Organization, of any issues not covered by them.
