In the vast universe of content creation and entertainment, there is a technological tool that has revolutionised the way we bring animated characters to life and recreate action scenes in movies, video games and animations. This marvel of a technique is known as Motion Capture (MOCAP).

For decades, industry pioneers have pursued the dream of capturing the smooth, graceful and authentic nature of human movement. Thanks to impressive technological advances, today we can witness how actors are wrapped in special costumes with markers that record even the smallest gesture, allowing performers to become true digital doubles.

We will discover how experts in animation, film and advertising have used and continue to use this technology to bring characters to life thanks to Motion Capture or MOCAP.

Oscar Monzón, with more than 25 years of experience in creating content for various platforms and companies, is the founder of Render Motion, developing his activity mainly between Los Angeles and Spain, where he fuses art, technology and emerging businesses.

Oscar worked as Global Sales & Marketing Director between 2002 and 2008 at Next Limit, winners of a technical Academy Award in 2008, a Goya Award (Segundo de Chomon) 2008, and several other technical awards worldwide. He and his team recently achieved a world record for hours of motion capture for Electronic Arts' FIFA2023 title, capturing 76 people for 105 minutes, for a total of 7,980 minutes of motion capture in a single day.

In addition to his achievements in the technology field, Oscar Monzón has also made his mark as an entrepreneur in the past. As owner of ArcoMedia Media Group, a marketing and advertising agency, he provided digital solutions to companies during the emerging digital transformation. His agency created both online and offline media campaigns to maximise the awakening of the digital age in 1993 and until 2002.
