This talk is a presentation of a real case of creation of a realistic exterior set prepared for lighting and composition in real time. Real time recreation of a 1920's street exterior for the Bambú Producciones series La Favorita.
We will show the creative process, effects design and execution from the first concepts to the composition and final result, of various shots of the series, with special emphasis on the use of real-time rendering and digital extras scanned in 4D, as well as real-time lighting synchronizing the composition software and 3D, for the execution of the shots in a much shorter time than used in other projects, due to customer requests.
We will show the composition made, joining and illuminating in real time the 3D layers obtained, the 3D scanned characters and we will see the final result of all these processes.
Jordi Costa
Jordi Costa, is a Visual Effects (VFX) Supervisor with a career that spans since 1995. He started as a 3D generalistict at companies such as Nectarstudio and Filmtel, where he headed the 3D department for a couple of years.
In 2003, he took an important step by moving to Entropy Studio, where he is currently one of the partners and plays a leading role as VFX supervisor for film, advertising and series. With his extensive experience and skills, Jordi has left an indelible mark on the digital entertainment industry, raising the standard of visual effects on numerous productions.
Pedro Cabrera
Pedro has more than 10 years working at Entropy Studio creating VFX for Films and television, which is his passion since he was a child. He started as a 3D generalist but with time he has moved more to the FX/TD area, so he develops his custom apps and plugins when needed.
In his own words: I love learning and investigating new techniques and softwares , and also to face and solve problems not only for me, but for the team which I belong to while working on some project, so many times I end up developing a custom tool for other people and for specific projects, what I really love to do.
