1. Participation

Participation in the Mundos Digitales International Animation Festival is free of charge. There is no entry free. The competition is open to all animation short films, produced after January 1st 2024 .

Short films may be submitted in their original language. If the original language is not Galician, Spanish, or English, subtitles in one of these languages must be provided. If subtitles are not available, a list of the original dialogues with a translation into Galician, Spanish, or English must be included.

2. Dissemination

Submitted short films will become part of the Festival’s Video Library and may be displayed for the promotion of Mundos Digitales, its congresses, and related events, as well as in parallel activities for non-commercial purposes.

Mundos Digitales reserves the right to use excerpts and/or still frames from the short films to promote the festival and the congress, as well as to screen them during the festival or at related events.

3. Registration

Registration must be completed via the online form available on the Mundos Digitales website. Once the form has been submitted, participants will receive an email with instructions on how to deliver a digital copy of their short film.

The technical requirements for the submitted short film copies are as follows:

• File format: AVI, MOV or MP4
• Recomended resolution: 1080p (1920x1080)
• Minimum resolution: 720p (1280x720)
• Video coding: H264, H265 or similar
• Audio coding: MP3, AC3, AAC.

The entries deadline is May 8, 2025 .

4. Selection Process

A Selection Committee, integrated by professionals of the industry and/or members of the Festival's organising team, will select the finalists from among all the short films received.

The finalists will be announced from May 22, 2025 and will be included on the on the Mundos Digitales Official Programme.

5. Jury

A professional jury, made up of experts from the audiovisual sector, will be responsible for selecting the winners of the Official Competition Selection.

The jury’s decision is final and will be announced during the Awards Ceremony, which will take place within the framework of the Conference.

6. Categories and Awards

The Festival categories are as follows:

• BEST ANIMATION SHORT FILM
• BEST NATIONAL ANIMATION SHORT
• AUDIENCE AWARD
• JURY AWARD

Mundos Digitales will cover travel and accommodation expenses for one person per finalist short film to attend the Awards Ceremony and enjoy a full pass to all Conference activities. In the event of mobility restrictions or health-related issues preventing travel, these benefits will be cancelled.

The winner of each category will receive the Mundos Digitales Festival Trophy.

The organisation reserves the right to declare any category void or, if deemed necessary, to create new categories if the quality of the short films justifies it, always at the discretion of the jury.

7. Acceptance of terms & Conditions

Participation in the Mundos Digitales International Animation Festival implies full acceptance of these rules, as well as compliance with any decisions made by the organisation to resolve situations not covered in these regulations.
