Mundos Digitales Special Award winner, Juan Cañada, will look back on his career, sharing his experiences and talking about his mission as a creator of tools that help people tell stories.

Juan will explain the challenges his team has overcome to make Unreal Engine, a means for creators of games, movies and interactive experiences to express themselves, and he will talk about the problems they are facing now and the challenges that lie ahead.

Juan Cañada is the Director of Graphics Engineering at Epic Games, where he leads the graphics development in the Unreal Engine engineering team.

Juan has been passionately working on computer graphics for more than 20 years where he filled different roles, from programmer to lead engineer or executive. After leading the Maxwell Render team at Next Limit Technologies for more than a decade he moved to the US to join Epic Games and lead the graphics efforts for UE5.

His team is working on next generation graphics technology such as Nanite, Lumen, TSR or Real Time Ray Tracing.
